Poetry: Matrimonial

By Monica C. Voskamp

I’m standing at a distance.

You’re on the other side

I see the door in between.

And I hesitate to step inside.

You are patiently waiting

You are calm and certain.

Hurt many times before

Afraid to trust once more

I stand in the entry to you

Watching to see the proof.

You hold your stance strong

You keep your gaze fixed.

The allure of your heart

The beauty of your spirit

Is calling out to me.

I hear you yet I pause

I linger as I watch

The way you are

The way you speak.

The room is full of good

You’ve assured repeatedly.

I finally step into the room

And only then do I realize,

You are doing the same

Giving precious trust to me.

Standing in this room,

I see my choice is you

And you have chose me.

Skin on skin, soul to soul

We share the vulnerable,

We enter matrimonial.

Always hope. Always believe. Always love. ❤

Poetry: Shattered Mosaic

By Monica C. Voskamp

Broken, again

Can’t stop this vase

From shattering

How many times

How many times

Can I shatter

And rebuild?

Hope, don’t you dare

Lose your hold on me

Be the super glue

That pieces me together

Every time I break

Be the peace that fills

Every crevice of

Love, promise me

You will be the light

That shines through my mosaic

Transform all the shattered veins

Weave them into a masterpiece

Only your power has the ability to

Always hope. Always believe. Always love. 💕

Poetry: Soul Caressing

By Monica C. Voskamp

Come caress my soul

With your kindness

I yearn to feel tenderness

Enter the labyrinth who I am,

My soul.

Come caress my soul

With loyalty and truth

I lean into hands of strength

Softly stroking me o’er

Healing, refreshing

Intertwined and mingling

Heat of endless love

Souls embed and cherishing

Quiet rhythm making

The treasures of few,

Come caress my soul

Feed it with beauty and wonder

Kindness, patience, integrity

Sighs of ecstasy unhindered now

Delight of finding,

Come caress my soul

Chase me down relentlessly

Hold me chest pressed close

Seducing heartbeats,

Choice whispering,

Always hope. Always believe. Always love. ❤

Poetry: Hold My Hands

By Monica C. Voskamp

First hold my hands

And know their feel

Know the streets of lines

Creased with the beauty

Age and time.

Know my hands

How they fit in yours

Know the warmth they long to find

Being relaxed, being assured

You are who

You say you are.

You’ll know my hands

If your heart is true

You’ll know the language

Of every squeeze I do.

You’ll know me well

If you took the time

To let me trust

You’d hold my hands

And then my heart.

So if you hold my hands,

Let it be a symbol of truth

Let it be the sign of kindness.

Let it be the voice speaking

Of you.

Someone who is willing

Someone who is ready

Someone who is able

To hold both my hands

And the whole of my heart.

Always hope. Always believe. Always love. ❤
