Poetry: Regret

By Monica C. Voskamp

I lost you to the wind

One day you were here

And the next you were gone

I lost you to the wind

And there’s no way

You’re ever coming back.

I could search my whole life

I could sail the 7 seas

I could cross the distant sands

Yet still I could never meet

The speed of the wind nor

The trail it blazes in time.

I lost you to the wind

And that is on me

That is on me.

Always hope. Always believe. Always love. ❤

Poetry: Use to Be

By Monica C. Voskamp

Without you

My hearts on pause

My souls on autopilot

It’s pounding out

Forced monotone rhythm

I try live in.

Without you

It doesn’t feel right

I miss our oceans ebb & tide

I miss our natural melody

The day to day colours

We use to be.

Without you

I try think logic and justify

I try ignore loss & grief

I try deny magical feels

That broke loose million dollar smiles

Just thinking of you.

Without you

My world is thrown off kilter

My feet are way off beat

I’m stumbling out of sync

Missing the much loved song

We use to sing.

Without you

My heart just closed its door

My song just flew away

My soul can’t register another word

I’m missing the favourite on repeat,

We use to be.

Always hope. Always believe. Always love. 💞

Poetry: Bleeding Soul

By Monica C. Voskamp

Open pain gushing

Pouring down the rivers

Of my soul.

My heart bleeding

Out your name

Bleeding out loss

Soul bleeding

Wishing it could

Change this twist in time.

Soul begging

For the truth to rewind

And play a different tune.

But truth is truth

It sings out it’s lyrics

Unashamed, Solid truth

Whether pain or joy

Truth says it’s honest voice.

And that’s why the truth hurts

That’s why the soul feels

Rivers merging into

One big ocean

Of pain.

Soul heard a voice of truth

Truth that tore the inner

Foundations apart.

Bleeding Soul,

This is what happened,

You heard a truth and now,

You hurt.

Always hope. Always believe. Always love. 💕

Poetry: Cup of Loss

By Monica C. Voskamp

Your cup once full

Brimming beautiful

Laughter dancing

Light and free

Like foamed cream

On coffee.

But suddenly full,

It was not.

Echoing silence

In the hollow space

Once held memories

Now gone,

Just like that.

Cup once full,

Eerily still

New liquid pours in.

Misery, pain, shock

A jolting brew

Very unlike the cup

Once loved & knew.

It’s different now.

The old will never be.

Loss has a way of leaving

A distinct bitter taste.

Sorrow, numbing pain

In every sip

This is the emptied cup.

Where is it?

Where is it when the beauty of your cup

Is suddenly gone?

How do you find the strength

To lift your mug

With no lingering scent

To breathe on in?

Memories haunt

Never poured again

Your soul warmth

This is loss.

It’s nothing beautiful.

It’s only a tragic blow.

But please,

Hold your cup.

Don’t let it go

Love remains to give

A miracle.

Love knows your pain.

Your emptied cup.

Love pours empty souls

A new full,

Sip by sip miracles.

Something different,

Something new,

A crimson beauty

To fill lonely space.

Cup of loss not forgotten,

Yet empty is yearning to hold

New found comfort, warmth and love

A whole mug

Always hope. Always believe. Always love. ❤
