Don’t you dare give up
But it’s okay to feel the way you do.
Alone.
Defeated.
Overwhelmed.
Lost in a sea of oppressive emotions
That threaten to be your final
Undertow.
But that doesn’t mean defeat.
That doesn’t mean lost.
That doesn’t mean you give up.
It simply means you are human.
You feel.
You wrestle.
You struggle.
You bleed red
Just like all of
Humanity.
Know there are 7.7 billion others
In the sea of life.
Some swimming fine,
Most getting tired.
Some struggling for breath
Some oxygen deprived
And sinking fast.
Don’t you dare give up
Even though the sea of life is hard
It is hard…
For all 7.7 billion of us.
We all struggle.
We all are here,
In the same unpredictable
Tidal oceans called
Life.
Don’t you give up
Because if you do
Someone else will lose hope too.
We are each other’s lifelines.
We are each other’s safe harbour.
When the storms persist to rage,
We are each other’s voice in the dark.
When life is too cold,
We are each other’s reassuring warmth
That we don’t tread these waters
Alone.
So today right now
Don’t you give up.
You are needed here
More than you know.
You are someone else’s
Safe harbour
Leading them
Home.
Always believe. Always hope. Always love. 💕
