“Come, just one more. ”

I protest, “Didn’t you see

How many steps I took

All of yesterday?!”

“Come,” you say

“Just one more today

One foot forward is

All  you need to take.”

You gently wait

Till I nod and agree.

We breathe in hope 

More than we can see. 

I do what’s possible 

And you do the same.

Together we paint a sunrise 

A thousand steps of faith.
