Poetry: Intimacy

You take me deeper

Down into the realms

Of mystery and divine.

You take me deeper

Into the sacred place

Of our souls combined.

You pull back the curtain

Ever so gently.

You beckon me to come

Follow your lead.

It’s a beautiful invitation

One I can take or leave.

And because it’s so gentle

I’m drawn to discovery.

You show me your soul

Authentic and raw.

You welcome my thoughts

My questions and dreams.

Then you hold out the offering

The most vulnerable of all

The gift I share with you

Sheer intimacy.
