Poetry: The Very Best Part

By Monica C. Voskamp

Is this all I am to you

The way I curve

The way I taste

The way I smell

The way my body fits

Into yours

Is this all you see of me

You follow my curves

Like it was a map

You’ve read a hundred times

You know each turn

Each dip, each crevice

You know so well

You could lead the way

Eyes closed.

My body you know

But my soul

You do not.

How could you forget?

Something even more complex

Even more mysterious

Even more intoxicatingly

You thought you knew me

So well dear lover

But your hungry eyes

Forgot to read

The very best part,

My soul.

Always believe. Always hope. Always love. 💕
